The annual Irish Festival was last weekend.
They ran out of corned beef and cabbage before we got there :(, but the shepards pie was tasty :).
They had Guinness booths. This festival wasn't sponsored by Budweiser! Glad some people do the cultural thing right ( even if I don't like beer ).
Fun music and dancing. We didn't dance this time as we were short of time due to needing to make a wheelbarrow delivery.
$gf bought a hand-knitted sweater. She had passed up all opportunities in .ie to buy one, but finally gave it. It's quite nice. It's also a bit thinner than the ones we saw there, which is good in Phoenix.
I found a merchant that Asterix and Obelix books in English! Most cool. I bought several as well as a couple of other books, a foolish pirate hat for Mouse and a parking faery for a friend that just moved to town.
As I was looking at stuff the merchant started talking to me in German. He'd lived a year in Baden-Baden. His German was rusty but passable. I let him know about AC4GC and promised to get him more info.
So, I bought French comics in English at an Irish festival while speaking German :).
We also got some fresh made potato chips ( American style chips ). They were tasty.
Twas a good day.
