At this year’s Jobs BoF we will be reviewing resumes.
Bring resumes for review by tech industry veterans at the SCaLE 17x jobs BoF.
Friday night at 19:00 we will have tech engineering managers and recruiters on hand in Ballroom C.
Resume reviews will run for an hour with informal career networking continuing for at least another hour in Ballroom C.
Thursday's PLUG meeting for July went well. We had a large crowd for mid-summer including lots of new faces.
Announcements included an opening for teaching electronics at a local community college. The department head showed up, so I handed it over to him for descriptions of the classes and what they need. He's adamant about a GNU/Linux infrastructure being vital to the success of the program and has hired 4 previous instructors from PLUG.
After my resume writing presentation at PLUG last week a few people spoke to me about looking for jobs. Some were new, so I don't yet know them by name. Hopefully they show up for Resume Review Night on Tuesday.
usually Stammtisch is the Tuesday after the PLUG meeting, but this month there is a week in between because the month started on a Wednesday.
This month is a family night event. We will start that at 18:00 to give
kids time to participate and still be home for bedtime.
Additionally, we're following up the great games night presentations last week with a gaming night at Stammtisch. Please bring Free Software related gaming stuff in.
/me already has rolldice installed and "Hey! That's my fish!" packed :).
The Free Software Stammtisch has moved to Boulders on Southern, near Fiesta Mall in Mesa. We're happy to return to Boulders and the new location will work better.
The original, Boulders on Broadway, was great, but has little parking and a very popular Tuesday night trivia. The owner is glad to have us return to the new location. He came by our first night to make sure everything was running well for us.
